During winter , new tasty buds called "puntarelle" (small tips) grow in the head. These "puntarelle" are fairly large but short. The small tips are numerous and they form a compact sort of pine cone. Semina: It needs be planted during summer and for best results it should be planted in July. Transplantation takes place one month after the seeding process, at a distance of 40 cm between the rows and 30 cm on the row.
