PUNTARELLE DI GALATINA

It is a big plant with an erect bearing.   A plant with long narrow green  leaves with white veins and irregular margins.  During  winter , new tasty buds called "puntarelle" (small tips)  grow in the head. These "puntarelle"  are fairly large but short.  The small tips are numerous and they form a compact sort of pine cone. Semina: It  needs be planted during summer  and for best results it should be planted in July.  Transplantation takes place one month after the seeding process, at a distance of 40 cm between the rows and 30 cm on the row.

PAN DI ZUCCHERO

Large green leaves forming a voluminous elongated head around 40 cm high that turns a white colour of its own accord. To be eaten in salads. For vigorous heads, best sown between June and August. Harvest in autumn-winter.

A special variety with a leafy head that forms a compact red ball that is crunchy and firm with an excellent flavour. The plants close to form compact heads, in a similar way to cabbage lettuces. Low temperatures are required in order to achieve bright red, compact balls. Sowing: from June to August.

This is a special selection of Rossa di Verona. The plants is very robust, a late variety for January -  February harvesting. It forms a large ball that is hard and dense, bright red colour with white veins. Excellent level of uniformity when ripe. Sowing: from June to July.
